Introduction to Sports Taping
Next Course - Sunday 11th November 2012 - 9am to 5pm
Venue: Devon Academy - Exeter
Price £140 to include all tape provided on the day. Also included is a Taping Starter Pack (taping bag, tape scissors and selection of tape)
Outline of Course:
Principles and Practice of taping
Precautions and contraindications to taping
Tape – types and properties of different tape
Taping techniques – Ankle/foot, knee, wrist/hand, elbow, shoulder
This will be a practical course, with all tape provided throughout the day. We will also provide handouts with all the taping techniques used to help aid your learning.
Requirements:
A good knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology is required for this course

Suitability
Anyone qualified, or about to qualify in massage or sports massage therapy, physiotherapy, chiropracting, osteopathy who would like to learn taping as part of their skill set.
Tutor
Lisa Hagger – A Chartered Physiotherapist with 6 years experience working in the NHS, private practice and with various sports teams. Currently working full time in Musculoskeletal outpatients for Northern Devon Healthcare Trust (NHS) and also the physiotherapist for Cullompton Rugby Club (League: South West 1).
Lisa also works with the Great Britain Junior Ultimate Frisbee Teams (Under 20’s and Under 17’s) – travelling and working with them at their European Championships in Poland in 2011 and travelling with them to Dublin in 2012. In 2012 she will also be working alongside other physiotherapists at several British Universities and College (BUCs) events including, swimming, lacrosse and waterpolo. She has also been invited to work at the Paralympics in September 2012.
